Students who have completed books 1-3 of Essential Elements for Violin and the necessary solo violin music are considered to be “intermediate”. At this point, students are ready to move into more advanced etudes and solo works. Bryan Rawls utilizes Franz Wohlfahrt’s Etudes for Violin Books 1 and 2 as well as Solos For Young Violinists Volumes 1 and 2 by Barbara Barber. Students will memorize all Major and Minor 2 Octave Scales and begin to work on certain 3 Octave Scales.
